CG NEWS: Three people died after drinking poisonous Mahua liquor

Manoj Yadav, Korba. The death of 3 people including a woman due to consumption of poisonous raw Mahua liquor in the district has created a sensation in the area. Police reached the spot as soon as they got information about the incident. After recording the statement of the deceased’s family members, they are engaged in further action. This incident is from village Kotmer of Kartala police station area.

The team of forensic experts has also reached the spot. Glasses, liquor packed in foil, fish, vegetables and food have been seized from the spot and sent for investigation. The police is busy in further process of postmortem after recording the statement of the deceased’s family members.

According to the villagers, all three died after consuming poisonous raw liquor. The deceased include Malti Bai (50), Ram Singh (60), Bedaram (49). The villagers said that all three deceased were consuming liquor at Bedaram’s residence and snacks and raw Mahua liquor were lying near the dead bodies in the house. Seeing this, it can be assumed that the deceased died after consuming poisonous raw Mahua liquor.

In this regard, District Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari said that it would not be right to say that the three died due to drinking poisonous liquor or food poisoning. The situation will become clear after receiving the post-mortem report. It would not be appropriate to say anything right now.
