Gaurav Jain, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi. Rajendra Chaudhary, the seller of Sharda Mahila Self Help Group and operator of the fair price shop located in Gram Panchayat Adbhar of the district, has been accused of black marketing of ration items and misbehavior with the villagers. Local ration card holders have alleged that the operator is charging more than the prescribed government price and is rigging the distribution of ration items. Against which the villagers have complained to the collector.
The local ration card beneficiaries accused the fair price shop of Gram Panchayat Adbhar seller Rajendra Chaudhary of black marketing and said that the government’s fair price rate of sugar is fixed at Rs 17 whereas the seller Rajendra Chaudhary charges Rs 20 for it. About 44 ration card holders were not distributed gram for the month of April whereas the stock of gram was entered in the online portal. When the local beneficiaries asked for gram, the seller Rajendra Chaudhary openly abused them and threatened to beat them.
Other women members of Sharda Mahila Self Help Group have also lodged a complaint against the group’s president and the president’s husband Rajendra Chaudhary. The women have alleged that the operator cuts gram and sugar online in advance by using the beneficiaries’ fingerprints and also collects money, but instead of giving ration, he keeps on making excuses for months, due to which the beneficiaries are left empty-handed and the seller sells their share of ration. Everyone is troubled by the operator’s arbitrariness and he threatens when asked for any information. Due to which the ration card beneficiaries opened a front against the ration shop operator demanding his immediate removal. Regarding the matter, the villagers reached the Collector’s office on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum to the collector demanding action.
