CG Morning News 17 April 2024: Raipur. The CBI team returned after investigating the coal scam in SECL’s Rehar underground mine project for five days. During this, the documents were examined and statements of the concerned officers were recorded. The scam came to light in July 2022. Then the vigilance team of the company, while checking the coal stock of Rehar mine, found 2700 tonnes less coal. After the large-scale irregularities were confirmed, the Vigilance team seized the documents of the mine and took them away. With the arrival of the CBI team, the heartbeats of the guilty officers have increased. Earlier, the CBI team had reached here for the first time on January 6 for investigation and returned after two days of investigation. The team reached here again for the second time on 18 February and continued collecting evidence for 22 days. Now for the third time on April 10, the CBI team reached here.

Procession: Jaistambh Chowk, Sadarbazar MG Road will remain closed from 8 pm

Due to Janwara immersion and Shobha Yatra in the capital on Wednesday, traffic on GE Road, Malviya Road, Sadarbazar, Tatyapara, Ramsagar Para, Gurunanak Chowk and MG Road will be diverted from 8 pm. Similarly, if the crowd increases in Ram Mandir, VIP Road will also be closed. Trains going to the airport will be diverted from Jora, Dharampura towards the airport or Nava Raipur. Do not go on these roads after 8 am. Janwara will emerge from Purani Basti, Amapara, Station Road and surrounding areas at 8 am on Wednesday.

Liquor shops will remain closed on Ram Navami

Raipur. Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Gaurav Singh issued a letter on Tuesday evening, in which he has ordered to declare Wednesday, April 17, Ram Navami as a dry day. Domestic and foreign liquor shops will remain closed in the district on dry days. The District Magistrate has directed all divisional and circle in-charges to take effective steps to prevent transportation and sale of illegal liquor during this period.
