Chhattisgarh On Thursday received 15 national awards in various categories for excellent implementation of various government schemes.
The state’s Principal Secretary Subrat Sahu received the awards from the Union Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar at a function organised by Union Rural Development Ministry at National Agriculture Science Building, PUSA New Delhi.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Panchayat Rural Development Minister TS Singhdeo congratulated the department officials and employees for the achievement.
Chhattisgarh has been once again selected and awarded at national level for excellent implementation of development works under various government schemes such as MNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana. Three districts, two development blocks and two gram panchayats in the state have been awarded for better implementation of MNREGA.
Under the PMGSY, Chhattisgarh received the second position in ‘best quality’ category. The state also received first prize for overall performance in Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (Rural). Raipur and Dhamtari districts received the first and second awards respectively under the scheme. Chhattisgarh also received second position on the basis of overall development in past three years, whereas Raipur received the first prize. Under the scheme, Chhattisgarh also received first prize for construction of maximum number of houses in 12 months and for training masons under the scheme.
Chhattisgarh has secured second position in implementation of GEO-MNREGA Initiative, second rank in completion of works and second rank in the country in implementation of Good Governance Initiative. For effective implementation of MNREGA by a District Administration, Mungeli district has been selected. Mungeli Collector and District Programme Officer (MNREGA) Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure received the award.
Under GEO-MNREGA initiative, Pamgarh block of Janjgir-Champa district has secured second rank in GIS Asset Supervision Implementation. Podi Gram Panchayat of Koriya district (Sonhat block) has secured second rank in the country for water harvesting structure construction, and Dhotimatola (Daundi block) of Balod district has secured third rank in implementation of MNREGA works.
