Raipur. The CBI has taken over the investigation of cases of allegations of bias in the selection of Deputy Collectors, DSPs and other senior posts by the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission during the 2020-22 examination. The CBI has searched the residential premises of the then Chairman and Secretary of the CBI CGPSC. Apart from this, it is also conducting searches at the premises of the Controller of Examinations in Raipur and Bhilai.
The CBI has registered the case on the request of the state government. Earlier, for investigation of Chhattisgarh cases, a case was registered against the then Chairman, then Secretary, then Controller of Examinations, all under Crime No. 05/2024 in PS EOW/ACB Raipur and Crime No. 28/2024 in PS Arjunda District-Balod.
The CBI has accused the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) and others of abusing their official position by recruiting their son, daughter, relatives, their acquaintances etc, who were allegedly ineligible candidates for various posts in the Chhattisgarh State Government.
In the year 2020-2022, the son of the then chairman was allegedly selected as Deputy Collector, his elder brother’s son was selected as Deputy SP. His sister’s daughter was selected as Labor Officer, his son’s wife as Deputy Collector and his brother’s daughter-in-law as District Excise Officer. It is also alleged that the then Secretary of Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission selected his son for the post of Deputy Collector.
In this case, it was also alleged that sons, daughters, relatives of the then senior officers of Chhattisgarh government as well as leaders and office bearers were selected as Deputy Collector and DSP etc. This case is now being investigated by the CBI.
