In view of the circumstances arising in the state due to Corona infection, the Chhattisgarh government has decided to take even more stringent measures for austerity. In this regard, the measures being taken in the past have been expanded. Now the construction work of the new Raj Bhavan, Vidhan Sabha Bhawan, CM House, Ministers ‘and senior officials’ houses, construction of the new Circuit House has been stopped with immediate effect in Nava Raipur. Bhoomi Pujan of these works was done on 25 November 2019. On April 26, all the departments have been instructed by the Government of Chhattisgarh to continue to be economical in the financial year 2021-22, just like the previous year. Now even further, on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the major construction works in Nava Raipur have been banned with immediate effect. On behalf of the Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department, orders have been issued to the concerned contractors to stop the construction work of Raj Bhavan, Vidhan Sabha Bhawan, CM House, Ministers and Senior Officers, construction of new circuit house with immediate effect. Along with this, the previously issued tenders for the works of 245 crore 16 lakh and 118 crore for the construction of new assembly building in Sector-19 have been canceled with immediate effect.
