Additional Chief Secretary Mrs. Pillai purchased paddy and inspected the collection centers

On the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, for the smooth operation of the paddy procurement system, officers from the secretariat to the district level are continuously visiting the paddy procurement centers across the state. Administrative officers are ready from day one, so that farmers do not face any problem and paddy procurement can be completed in an orderly manner. Additional Chief Secretary of State Government Smt. Renu G. Pillai on Friday inspected the arrangements at various paddy procurement centers in Kurud, Dhamtari and Nagari development blocks of Dhamtari district. During this, he took stock of the arrangements made for the purchase of paddy at the support price as per the criteria set by the government in the current Kharif marketing year and closely watched the procurement process. Mrs. Pillai inspected the arrangements from procurement centers to paddy collection centers at Bhathagaon in Kurud and Bhoyna in Dhamtari. On this occasion, Mrs. Pillai did a thorough inspection of the procurement center Makardona under the Kukrel committee of Chataud, Chinwari, Dhamtari, Limtara, City of Kurud. The Additional Chief Secretary also took information about the staff available in the said centers, hygrometer machine, platform, arrangement of staking, fork-distribution, weighing process, from computer entry to the availability of gunny bags, paddy purchased till now and tokens issued. Mrs. Pillai appreciated the action plan and arrangement made in the district for smooth procurement of paddy and instructed to procure paddy in the same way in future also. He said that farmers should not face any problem and as per the intention of the State Government, all farmers should continue to purchase paddy keeping in mind that they can get the right price for their produce as support price. Collector Mr. P.S. Elma present on the spot. Told that all the paddy procurement centers have a system to issue tokens, so that there is no chaos or unnecessary crowding in the centers. So far 22,025 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from 8 thousand 190 farmers in the centres. He also informed that the millers will start paddy lifting directly from such centers where more paddy has been procured. Nodal officers have been made for all the centers to ensure smooth procurement of paddy in support price. On this occasion, Superintendent of Police Mr. Praful Thakur, Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Mrs. Priyanka Mahobia, Fertilizers and officers of the concerned department were also present.
