Following the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the police is continuously taking action against those who play IPL betting in the state. A few days ago, Raipur Police arrested 13 bookies while feeding IPL betting. The police had seized 69 mobiles and 7 laptops from them. The police had seized betting patties worth lakhs of rupees from these bookies. Amidst frequent complaints of betting on IPL in the state, on the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, all the superintendents of police have been asked to expedite the action against bookies. Following the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, the police is keeping an eye on the bookies in all the districts regarding betting on IPL in the state and immediate action is also being taken as soon as the complaint is received. Recently, as soon as the IPL tournament started, complaints were being received in various districts of the state about the bookies being active in the illegal business of online and offline cricket betting. On the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, continuous action is being taken against this illegal business of betting in an organized manner across the state by collecting information by the police. In the last 48 hours only, in offline / online betting of cricket, 17 bookies in 15 cases in Raipur range, 15 bookies in 08 cases in Durg range, 38 bookies in 28 cases in Bilaspur range, 05 bookies in 05 cases in Surguja range and Action has been taken against 21 bookies in 13 cases in Bastar range. After the instructions of the Chief Minister, in the last 48 hours, a total of 96 bookies active in IPL betting in the state have been arrested and more than 10 lakh rupees and computers, mobiles etc. used in betting have been confiscated.
