A new chain of tourism pilgrimages is starting to take shape in Chhattisgarh

Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit Project has been started by the Chhattisgarh government to save the memories of the exile period of Lord Shri Ram associated with Chhattisgarh and to promote culture and tourism. Under this, nine tourist pilgrimages selected in the first phase are being rejuvenated rapidly. Under this project, along with attractive land scaping of all these tourist pilgrimages, facilities for tourists are also being developed. In this project of Rs 139 crore, the sites related to the exile period of Lord Rama are being conserved and developed from Korea district of North Chhattisgarh to Sukma district of South Chhattisgarh. After Chandkhuri, now development work has been completed in Shivrinarayan too, which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on 10th April. For this, a three-day grand ceremony will start from April 08. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel had started the construction of Ram Vanagaman tourism circuit in the year 2019 by performing Bhoomipujan at Mata Kaushalya temple in Chandkhuri. The places coming in this circuit are being decorated and decorated according to the theme of Ramayana. With this ambitious scheme of Chhattisgarh government, the future generation will get the opportunity to get acquainted with its Sanatan culture and tourists of the country and abroad will also get high level facilities. On 07 October 2021, with a three-day grand national event, the beautification and renovation works of Mata Kaushalya Temple, Chandkhuri have been inaugurated by the Chief Minister, after which there has been a huge increase in the number of tourists, which is the reason for the success of construction of Ram Vanagaman tourism circuit. It is a symbol. Lord Shri Ram has settled in the culture and tradition of Chhattisgarh. The day begins here with the chant of Jai Siya Ram. The main reason for this is that for the people of Chhattisgarh, Shri Ram is not only a faith, but he is also a state of life and an ideal system. In Chhattisgarh, he is worshiped as a nephew. Just 27 KM from Raipur. Situated at a distance of Chandkhuri, Arang is believed to be the birthplace of Mata Kaushalya and the maternal grandmother of Shri Ram. The ancient name of Chhattisgarh is Dakshin Kosal. Ayodhya is the birthplace of Raghukul Shiromani Shri Ram but Chhattisgarh is his Karmabhoomi. During the exile period, while traveling from Ayodhya to Prayagraj, Chitrakoot Satna, Shri Ram reached Dakshin Kosal i.e. Bharatpur in Koriya district of Chhattisgarh and crossed the Mawai river and entered Dandakaranya. He rested at Sitamarhi-Harchuka, a natural cave temple built on the banks of river Mavai. In this way, the first stop of Ramchandra ji’s exile in Chhattisgarh is considered to be Sitamarhi-Harchouka near Bharatpur. Many incidents of Ramayana period have happened in the holy land of Chhattisgarh, the evidence of which is folk culture, folk art, legend and folklore. In the first phase under Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit, Sitamarhi-Harchuka (District Korea), Ramgarh (District Surguja), Shivrinarayan (District Janjgir-Champa), Turturia (District Balodabazar), Chandkhuri (District Raipur), Rajim (District Gariaband) ), Saptarishi Ashram Sihawa (District Dhamtari), Jagdalpur and Ramaram (District Sukma) are being developed. Sitamarhi of Koriya district is also famous as the first stop of Ramchandra’s exile period. Ramgiri mountain is mentioned in mythological and historical texts. This is the Ramgiri-Ramgarh mountain of Surguja district. The theater of Sitabengra-Jogimara cave located here is considered to be the oldest theater in the world. It is believed that Sita ji had spent some time here with Ramchandra ji during the forest movement, hence the name of this cave was Sitabengra. Shivnath, the Triveni confluence of leech and Mahanadi is Shivrinarayan, full of natural beauty in Janjgir-Champa district. Due to the relation of this Vishnukakshi pilgrimage to Shabari and Narayan, it is called Shabari Narayan or Shivrinarayan. It is believed that at this place, Mata Shabari had fed sweet berries to Ramchandra ji after tasting berry out of love. There is a temple of Nar-Narayan and Mata Shabari, near which there is such a banyan tree, whose leaves are in the shape of two. After the completion of development work in Shivrinarayan after Chandkhuri, a new chain of tourist pilgrimages has started taking shape in the state.
