Raipur. Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale reached Durg today to take stock of the preparations for counting of Lok Sabha elections. He gave a check of a total amount of Rs 15 lakh as ex-gratia compensation amount to both the sons of Madhu Banjare, a woman worker who died during election duty. He presented a check of Rs 7.5 lakh to Nitin Kumar Banjare, sons of late Madhu Banjare and Rs 7.5 lakh to Vipin Kumar Banjare at the Circuit House in Durg today.
It is noteworthy that election worker Madhu Banjare died in a vehicle accident near Kumhari on May 8 during the Lok Sabha general election duty. The Chief Electoral Officer’s office had recommended payment of a total ex-gratia compensation amount of Rs 15 lakh to his heirs sons Nitin Kumar Banjare and Vipin Kumar Banjare under the provisions of the Chhattisgarh State Ex-gratia Compensation Payment Rules 2009. The Chief Electoral Officer handed over the cheque to the family. During this, Durg Collector and District Election Officer Richa Prakash Chaudhary, Superintendent of Police Jitendra Shukla and Deputy District Election Officer BK Dubey were present.
