Till December 29, 52 lakh 90 thousand 339 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 13 lakh 74 thousand 858 farmers in the state of Chhattisgarh at support price. Paddy is being procured in 2484 paddy procurement centers of the state. It is worth mentioning that this year on the initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, along with the procurement of paddy, the off-take of paddy for custom milling is also happening at a rapid pace. So far, DO of 19 lakh 91 thousand 702 metric tonnes has been issued. The millers have lifted 15 lakh 23 thousand 098 metric paddy from the procurement centers. Even on the 29th day of paddy procurement, Rajnandgaon district ranks first in the state in terms of procurement of paddy on support price. In Rajnandgaon district, 4 lakh 84 thousand 756 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured. Janjgir-Champa district ranks second in paddy procurement in the state. 4 lakh 57 thousand 831 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured in the district. Today, Bemetara district is third in the state in the procurement of paddy. In Bemetara district, 3 lakh 85 thousand 219 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured. According to the information received from the Food Department, till December 29, 79,971 metric tonnes in Bastar district, 29,470 metric tonnes in Bijapur district, 5,373 metric tonnes in Dantewada district, 1,68,156 metric tonnes in Kanker district, 80,229 metric tonnes in Kondagaon district on support price till December 29.
