45.65 lakh metric tonnes of rice will be delivered in the central bridge Kharif marketing year 2021-22

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain regarding the delivery of 45.65 lakh metric tonnes of rice to FCI at Kendriya Bridge in the Kharif marketing year 2021-22. In the meeting, Secretary Food Department Mr. Topeshwar Verma, Managing Director Markfed Ms. Kiran Kaushal, Special Secretary Food Department Mr. Manoj Soni along with Divisional Railway Manager Raipur-Bilaspur-Nagpur, General Manager Food Corporation of India Raipur, Regional Manager Central Warehousing Corporation Bhopal were present in the meeting. In the meeting held through video conferencing, it was suggested to hire godowns by FCI for collection before transportation of rice outside the state. New rakes of higher capacity will also be used for transportation of rice. In this regard, Raipur-Bilaspur-Nagpur Division of Railways has assured full cooperation. The space for additional godown of 7.50 lakh metric capacity has been proposed to be tested and taken on rent by FCI. The Chief Secretary has directed the Nodal Officer of the Food Department to maintain regular contact with the officers of FCI and ensure transportation of rice.
