Udaipur. The horticulture department of the MDO agent of Rajasthan State Electricity Generation Corporation Limited (RRVUNL) has planted four lakh saplings in the reclaimation land after mining in Hasdev area. With this, a new forest of 15.68 lakh trees has been prepared so far. In this 1200 -acre forest, more than one lakh year old trees have taken the shape of about 20 to 30 feet height in the last 12 years with the nursery of year plants. At the same time, mixed plantation includes many types of trees like Mahua, Khair, Banyan, Beja, Harra, Bahera etc.
RRVUNL’s mine is in Udaipur tehsil of Parsa East Kete Basen mine (PEKB) Surguja district. Its mining work started in the year 2012, for this, some trees are disconnected by the forest department according to their goals in the forests, while the department has planted more than 51 lakh trees in the division so far, as far as the data of planting year plants is concerned, this series has reached the PEKB mine from 200 in 2012 and has reached close to 4 lakhs in 2025. A total of 45 species including years, including Khair, Bija, Harra, Bahera, Banyan, Teak, Mahua as well as many fruit trees such as mangoes, guava, jackfruit, papaya etc. were planted.
These plants developed in nursery were planted by planting water through drip irrigation in every plants for irrigation. Which is now taking the form of a fully developed forest. Today all these plants have become very high trees, due to which the biodiversity of this region has now started returning. Many types of birds are now making their nests in this forest. Monkeys, mongoose and bear have also been seen in wild animals.
The horticulture department, located in the PEKB mine of RRVNL, shared its success story with us, saying, “Our team has worked hard for the rejection of the year tree. In collaboration with the professors of the horticulture department of some big universities, we started making these seeds in the jungles in the month of May for the origin and rejuvenation of the year seeds and started to plant these seeds in the month of May for the origin and rejuvenation of the year. Local intellectual classes, traders and people are also being invited to see this forest. The total secretary of the Central University also observed the forests established here and appreciated that, “The year trees have really seen about 20 feet so far. With the success of PEKB block in Surguja, the Rajasthan government has created around 10,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities in the backward Surguja district.
