National Vice-President of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis, Shri Baban Rawat took a meeting of the district level officers of the concerned departments in the Red Cross meeting hall located in the Collectorate premises here today. He reviewed the self-employment schemes for the rehabilitation of Safai Karamcharis. It is noteworthy that Shri Rawat is on a visit to the state of Chhattisgarh from September 13 to September 16 to study the social, economic and educational life of Safai Karamcharis and their dependents. In the meeting, Mr. Rawat also took information from the officers about the number of scavengers working in their department and the vacant posts. He asked for disposal of pending cases of compassionate appointment at the earliest. He inquired about the first and second doses of Kovid-19 vaccine to the sanitation workers. He asked the officers of the urban body and the lead bank manager to take special initiative to give Mudra loan for self-employment to the sanitation workers and dependents in coordination. He sought information from the officers of the Railway and Police Department about the number, arrangement and payment of sanitation workers in their department and EPF deduction. Collector Saurabh Kumar informed about the schemes being run for the benefit of the sanitation workers in the departments and said that work is being done by the administration to get maximum benefits through this.
