Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has started the Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store scheme in Chhattisgarh as an effort to bring costly health services within the reach of poor people. Under the scheme, stores of affordable medicines are being opened in different districts of the state. At present 7 cheap medicine shops are operating in Surguja division under the scheme. In these drug shops, quality medicines are provided to the consumers by MRP. But the benefit of minimum 50.09 percent and maximum 71 percent discount is available. In Surguja division, a cheap drug shop is operating on Manipur Shopping Complex District Hospital Road in Ambikapur, Municipal Corporation of Surguja district. In Balrampur District, Balrampur Municipality has Hospital Campus in Balrampur and Ward-05 of Nagar Panchayat Ramanujganj in front of District Court. There is a cheap medicine shop in front of the hospital in the old bus stand shop No.-4 in Surajpur, Municipality of Surajpur district and in the complex made by Janpad Panchayat in Pratappur Nagar Panchayat. Similarly, Shree Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store is running in front of District Library in Ward-13 of Jashpur Municipality of Jashpur District and in Ward-7 Bus Stand of Nagar Panchayat Garden.
