Under this, so far more than 01 lakh 21 thousand saplings have been planted in the state by joining the scheme by 01 thousand 757 beneficiaries, village panchayats and forest management committees. These have been planted in an area of ​​03 thousand 243 acres. According to the intention of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, under the guidance of Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, the Chief Minister’s Plantation Promotion Scheme is being run efficiently. Out of the total beneficiaries so far benefited under the scheme, 20 thousand 650 plants have been planted in 01 thousand 286 acres of land by 736 beneficiaries holding forest rights recognition letters. Apart from this, 01 lakh 90 thousand saplings have been planted in 01 thousand 497 acres area by 902 gram panchayats and 01 lakh 21 thousand saplings have been planted in 460 acres area by 119 joint forest management committees. implemented from 2021. Under the scheme, there is an important provision for large scale plantation of timber, non-timber, fruit trees, bamboo, other minor forest produce and medicinal plants in non-forest areas. This will encourage agro-forestry including commercial and industrial plantation of timber, non-timber species on the land of private sector, farmers, government departments and village panchayats. In this way, the production of wood is to be increased by promoting plantation on private and community lands. At the same time, the forests have to be kept safe by reducing the biological pressure on the wood available in the forests. To take advantage of the scheme, all the citizens of the state, according to the availability of private land and all the village panchayats and joint forest management committees will be eligible. Instead of planting trees in their fields, they will be given incentive at the rate of Rs 10,000 per acre per year for the next 3 years. Similarly, if commercial plantation will be done from the amount available with the Gram Panchayats, then in case of successful plantation after one year, the concerned Gram Panchayats will be given incentive at the rate of Rs.10 thousand per acre from the government. This will increase the income of Panchayats in future. Apart from this, if tree plantation is done on the revenue land on commercial basis from the amount available with Joint Forest Management Committees, then like Panchayat, incentive amount will be given to the concerned committee at the rate of 10 thousand rupees per acre after one year.
