Under the campaign being run by the Forest Department for the prevention of forest crimes, action has been taken to confiscate illegally collected timber worth about Rs. Under the direction of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Forest Force Chief Shri Rakesh Chaturvedi and Divisional Forest Officer Mahasamund Shri Pankaj Rajput, the departmental staff carried out searches and guerrillas in the houses of 11 persons of village Khamhan. In these, 512 nos. total 6.677 cubic meters of chiran and balli include sol, teak and other mixed species of wood. It is worth mentioning that under the guidance of Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar, the department is continuously campaigning for the prevention of forest crimes in the state.
