This time more than 1000 dancers from 7 countries, 27 states and 6 union territories have participated in the National Tribal Dance Festival – Chhattisgarh Rajyotsava, hence there is zeal and enthusiasm in the atmosphere. In this colorful environment, JSPL’s pandal is spreading its different shade. Chhattisgarh is the birthplace of JSPL. Founding Chairman Shri OP Jindal planted this sapling in Raigad in 1989, which is contributing immensely to the nation’s strength today. JSPL also remains a source of inspiration here that how world-renowned social worker and entrepreneur Mr. OP Jindal while living in village Nalwa, Hisar saw and made such big dreams come true. Similarly, how Chairman Shri Naveen Jindal took those dreams forward and became an ally in the nation’s efforts to achieve self-reliance in many sectors including Rail, Energy. The journey of JSPL in Chhattisgarh started from the 0.3 MTPA capacity DRI plant at Raigarh, Which today has become a steel company with 8.6 MTPA MTPA. In this, the capacity of Raigad plant is 3.6 MTPA, which efforts are being made to take it further. JSPL’s Raigad plant is today one of the largest sponge iron production plants in the world. JSPL is the only private sector company in the country, which is manufacturing railway tracks. Similarly, it is the only company in the country which is manufacturing head hardened rail for high speed trains at its plant in Raigarh. These efforts of JSPL have given new wings to the dreams of expansion of metro and inter-metropolitan services like metro, mono rail and now the government is writing new chapters of development through its indigenously built rail tracks. Earlier these tracks were dependent on foreign countries. Jindal Power Limited, established by JSPL at Tamnar in Raigad, was a revolutionary initiative of the private sector in the independent power generation sector. It was such a foundation, which made the country self-reliant in terms of power generation capacity. Be it steel or power plants, machines are required for their installation and operation and this need has been met by the machinery division of JSPL, Raipur. Those machines were also made in this workshop of Raipur, which were made only abroad. Many such indigenous techniques were developed here, which proved effective in strengthening the industrial foundation of the nation. Many works of community development including OP Jindal School, OP Jindal University, OP Jindal Community College, Jindal Institute of Power Technology, Fortis-OP Jindal Hospital have become recognition of JSPL’s contribution in the field of social service.
