He also urged all the sports federations to have coaches related to their sports. He said that the coach has an important role in nurturing the sports talent of the players. The Chief Minister directed the Chief Secretary to prepare a proposal for the cabinet meeting to make provision for appointment of sportspersons in other departments like Police and Forest Department. On the lines of sports facilities being developed by Collector Rajnandgaon and Collector Raigarh in the district headquarters, the Chief Minister gave instructions in the meeting to prepare training programs for sportspersons and promote sports by keeping NIS trainers in all district headquarters. Shri Baghel asked all the sports federations to make arrangements for regular training of sports through coaches and senior players, special attention should be paid to the training facilities of major sports like hockey, archery, swimming, basketball, athletic, badminton etc. He said that world class hockey infrastructure is available in Raipur, Rajnandgaon and Bilaspur. Players should be trained regularly by keeping trainers here. The Chief Minister said that for developing sports infrastructure, synthetic athletic track at State Training Center Bahtarai Bilaspur at a cost of Rs 8 crore 85 lakh, girls hostel at a cost of Rs 4 crore 75 lakh, boys hostel at a cost of Rs 2 crore 82 lakh, Administrative building at a cost of Rs 4 crore 47 lakh, residential hockey academy, archery and athletic sports academy at a cost of Rs 1 crore 85 lakh, residential girls’ kabaddi academy at a cost of Rs 12 lakh, Rs 38.76 lakh in Shivtarai village of Bilaspur. A non-residential archery training sub-centre has been set up at a cost of Rs. Similarly, in the premises of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Hockey Stadium in Raipur, Late Koduram Verma Archery Academy at a cost of Rs. 75 lakh, Swami Vivekananda Stadium, Raipur at a cost of Rs. 14 lakh and non-residential Girls Football Academy at a cost of Rs. 22 lakh. Non-residential Boys and Girls Athletic Academy has been set up. He said that a provision of Rs 50 crore has been kept for Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club.
