In challenging circumstances, he took decisions for the country with stability and neutrality and made an incomparable contribution in building a new India. The Chief Minister said that Smt. Indira Gandhi is called Iron Lady. He took tough decisions like nationalization of banks, abolition of Privypers of kings. She was a disciplined and strict ruler, but had tender feelings for the tribals, women and the poor in her heart. He tried lifelong for the upliftment of the poor and weaker sections of the society and laid down his life to protect the unity and integrity of the country. Smt. Indira Gandhi’s birthday is celebrated as Quami Ekta. Mr. Baghel said that Indira ji was active in the country’s freedom struggle since childhood. He founded the Bal Charkha Sangh and formed the children’s Vanar Sena during the non-cooperation movement. Mrs. Gandhi was interested in various subjects and saw life as a continuous process. Indira ji told the path of discipline, hard work and strong will power to achieve the goal. He achieved many achievements in his life. The rise of Bangladesh, India’s becoming a nuclear-powered nation were his major achievements. The success of his Green Revolution program made the country self-sufficient in food production. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Indira ji was the first and only woman Prime Minister of the country till date. Following in her footsteps, the state government had launched the Dai-Didi Clinic scheme for women last year on Indira ji’s birthday. Due to which a large number of women have benefited.
