Various assistive devices are provided by the Social Welfare Department to the differently-abled persons of the district. Under which battery-operated tricycles were provided to three beneficiaries of Makdi development block of the district by District Panchayat President Devchand Matlam on Tuesday. In the program organized in the office of the Social Welfare Department, the District Panchayat President talked to the beneficiaries and got information about their business and works and also motivated them. On this occasion, Amita Markam, resident of village Jondra of Makdi block, Jagannath, resident of Santlal, Sonabeda were given motorized tricycles. Expressing happiness on getting helmets for safety along with tricycle by all the beneficiaries, thanked the district administration. In this regard, Deputy Director Social Welfare Lalita Lakra said that battery operated tricycles have been provided to the beneficiaries with more than 80 percent disability. Apart from this, tricycles are provided for less than 80 percent disability. Apart from this, assistive devices on other types of disabilities are also provided by the department.
