Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel and under the guidance of Forest Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar, the collection of minor forest produce is going on continuously in Chhattisgarh. According to the data released by ‘The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED)’, during the current financial year 2021-22 in the state during the first quarter month April to July, an amount of Rs. Lakh 77 thousand 958 quintals of minor forest produce have been purchased. During this period in the country, 88.36 percent of the minor forest produce worth Rs 93 crore has been collected in Chhattisgarh. Two lakh 77 thousand 958 quintals of minor forest produce amounting to Rs. Out of these, 01 lakh 13 thousand 614 quintals of tamarind (including seeds) worth Rs 40 crore 90 lakh and 01 lakh 37 thousand 946 quintal year seed worth Rs 27 crore 59 lakh have been collected. Similarly, 6 thousand 595 quintal flower tamarind worth Rs 4 crore 15 lakh, 2 thousand 390 quintal chironji kernels worth Rs 2 crore 92 lakh and 10 thousand 493 quintal Bahera worth Rs 01 crore 78 lakh are included. During this, Mahul Patta, Nagarmotha, Bhelwa, Bahera Kacharia, Dhavai Phool (Dry), Harra Kacharia, Puwad (Charota), Bel Gud, Satwar (Dry), Kusum seed, Full Broom, Rangini Lac, Van Tulsi, Flower Tamarind, Jamun Seeds (dry), Van cumin, Tamarind seed, Amla seedless, Kusumi lac, Kullu gum, Mahua seed, Karanj seed and Bybuding have been collected. Apart from this, the collection of Patal Kumhra (Bedari tuber), Tikhur, Sawai grass, Korea bark, Chhind grass, Amla (raw), thorn broom, Kutz bark, Adusa leaf, Indrajou seed, Safed musli, Palash flower etc. have also been collected. Managing Director of State Minor Forest Produce Association, Mr. Sanjay Shukla informed that at present 52 minor forest produce are being purchased in the state at the minimum support price. In these 52 minor forest produce, including Sal seed, Harra, Tamarind seed, Chironji kernels, Mahua seed, Kusumi lac, Rangini lac, Kal Megh, Bahera, Nagarmotha, Kullu gum, Puwad, Bel anus, Honey and flower broom, Mahua flower (dry ) Are included. Apart from this, Jamun Beej (dry), Kaunch Beej, Dhavai Phool (dry), Karanj Beej, Baybuding and Amla (with seeds) and Phool Tamarind (seedless), Giloy and Bhelwa, Van Basil Beej, Van Cumin Seed, Tamarind Seed, Contains Bahera Kacharias, Harra Kacharias and Neem Seeds. Similarly, kusumi seed, reetha fruit (dry), shikakai phalli (dry), satavar root (dry), cashew kernels, malkangani seed and mahul leaf are included. Similarly, Palas (flower), Safed Musli (dry), Indrajou, Patal Kumhra, and Kutaj (bark), Ashwagandha, Amla raw, Sawai grass, Thorn broom, Tikhur, Behan lac-Kusmi, Behan lac-rangini, Bel (raw ), and berries (raw). Apart from the support price, additional incentive money is also being given by the state government for the purchase of Kusumi lac, Rangini lac and Kullu gum.
