Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has announced to give tehsil status to Pipariya and Kukdur and Nagar Panchayat status to Indore and Kunda in Kabirdham district. The Chief Minister was discussing with the delegation from Kabirdham district at his residence office here tonight. On this occasion, he said that administrative units are being reorganized into smaller units for the convenience of the general public. Five new districts were formed in the state in just three years, due to which now the number of districts in Chhattisgarh has increased from 27 to 32. Similarly, the number of tehsils has increased from 147 to 222. With this, the villagers coming to the district or tehsil headquarters for their work will not need to stay there for the night. They will be able to return to their villages on the same day. Regarding starting a medical college in Kawardha, the Chief Minister said that if new medical colleges are approved by the Centre, then a medical college would be started in Kawardha also. This year, on the basis of the approval received from the Centre, three medical colleges have been approved in the state at Kanker, Mahasamund and Korba. With this, Chandulal Chandrakar Medical College of Durg has been acquired. He said that along with Swami Atmanand English Medium School in Bodla, Hindi Medium School, which was already running there, would also operate there.
