Youth and Medalists Join Cycling Drive to Promote Fitness and Clean Air

In a concerted effort to boost public health, the "Sunday on Cycle" initiative was held in Varanasi with Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya as the chief guest. The event kicked off with a balloon release and a group bicycle ride that saw participation from a large crowd at Namo Ghats.

Among those honored were athletes who secured medals at the Asian Games, alongside community leaders who helped organize the cycling session. The program featured cultural acts and encouraged people of all ages to take part, underscoring the twin goals of fitness promotion and environmental stewardship.

Mandaviya told reporters that cycling serves as an effective exercise, reduces vehicular emissions, and saves fuel. He appealed to the nation to adopt cycling as a daily habit, aligning with the broader Fit India campaign championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
