Young Indian Squash Star Prepares for Tough Asian Games Line-up

At just 18, Anahat Singh has already broken through the junior ranks by dethroning Egypt's long‑standing dominance in Canada. Now the focus shifts to the 2026 Asian Games, where she will encounter a formidable roster of competitors from across the continent.

During a recent honor ceremony organized by the Asian Squash Confederation and the Squash Federation of India, Singh emphasized the significance of the event: "This is the most important tournament of my life. I will give it everything I have."

The Asian Games also double as a qualifying pathway for the inaugural Olympic squash competition in Los Angeles 2028. Singh hopes to become the first Indian squash player to book a berth at the Games, a milestone that would mark a historic moment for Indian sport.

She has identified the key challenges ahead – seasoned athletes from Malaysia, Hong Kong and Japan who rank within the top‑10 to top‑20 globally. Singh plans an intensive training schedule to sharpen her tactics, fitness and mental resilience before the Games commence.
