Yashasvi Jaiswal has been selected for the Indian team for the Test series against the West Indies. However, even before the series began, he has already made a name for himself. TIME magazine has recognized the talent of this left-handed opening batsman from India. The prestigious American magazine has included Jaiswal in its list of the 100 most influential rising stars in the world. Notably, Yashasvi Jaiswal is not only the sole cricketer from India but also the only cricketer globally to be featured in TIME magazine’s list.
TIME magazine selected individuals from around the world for this list, encompassing fields such as entertainment, sports, politics, fashion, and others. Individuals who have made an impact in their respective fields have been included in TIME’s 100 Next list. Importantly, there was no age limit set by TIME for inclusion in this list.
In the sports category, a total of five athletes have been included in TIME magazine’s 100 Next list for the year 2025. These five athletes represent different sports, and their names are: Lamine Yamal, Paige Bueckers, Taylor Fritz, Geno Thitikul, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
