The mixed‑team 10‑meter air pistol event produced a historic performance by the reigning world champions Yao Qianxun and Hu Kai. The Chinese pair shattered the world record in both qualification and final rounds. They opened with a qualification score of 591 points, establishing a new benchmark, and then posted 488.4 points in the final to claim gold.

Their achievement broke the previous record of 487.7 points set by India's Palak and Mukesh Nala in April. Fellow Chinese teammates Shen Yao and Bu Shuaihang secured silver with 485.7 points, while South Korea's Kim Bo‑Mi and Hong Su‑Hyun placed third, six points behind the leaders. The result demonstrated China's dominance across multiple shooting disciplines at the Hangzhou meet.
