Wushu, Penchak Silat and Taekwondo Shine for Chandigarh Police in AIPG

At the Judo Cluster segment of the All India Police Games 2026, Chandigarh Police displayed exceptional skill in three martial disciplines. The force’s athletes collected a total of ten medals – five gold, two silver and three bronze – underscoring the depth of talent within the department.

In Wushu, the gold medal was clinched by Constable Harish (85 kg). Constable Anju Kumari earned silver in the 52 kg women’s division, while Constables Ritu (70 kg) and Sharganand (90 kg) each secured bronze.

Penchak Silat proved to be a gold mine: Constable Sonia, Constable Ritu and Constable Simran each topped their categories, Constable Sanjit captured silver in the 75 kg class, and Constable Chandni added a bronze in the 60 kg division.

The Taekwondo arena saw Constable Sonam win the sole gold for the team.

The athletes benefitted from the focused training program designed by coach HC Sandeep Kumar. Their achievements were publicly commended by Director General Dr. Sagarpreet Hooda, who highlighted the significance of the performance for the Chandigarh Police community and its potential to inspire future international participation.
