Wuhan Open Highlights: Guo Hanyu’s Come‑back Win and Wang’s Loss

Tuesday's action at the Wuhan Open featured two contrasting stories. Guo Hanyu, a Chinese wildcard, turned a 1‑6 deficit into a 7‑5 victory over Sorana Cirstea, marking her first top‑20 scalp and a breakthrough in a main‑draw match. Meanwhile, Asian Games champion Wang Qiu battled 17‑year‑old Miao Pohankova, losing in three sets after a fierce tie‑break rally. Other matches saw Ukraine's Daria Snigur upset 14th seed Alice Martens, Greece's Maria Sakari rally past 8th seed Marta Kostyuk, and American N. Lee advance after Colombian Camila Osorio withdrew.
