WTC points table shifts: Pakistan gains a rung, West Indies lose one

Following the second Test of the series in New Delhi, Pakistan's eight‑wicket win over West Indies has altered the World Test Championship points tableau. Pakistan moved up one place to settle at eighth, while West Indies dropped to ninth.

Pakistan’s WTC campaign now includes six matches, with two wins and four losses, raising their win percentage to 22.22 percent. West Indies have contested twelve matches, securing two wins and enduring eight defeats, leaving their win percentage at 20.83 percent.

The first innings saw West Indies compile 344 runs; Pakistan replied with 387, securing a 43‑run lead. The second innings collapse of West Indies to 117 highlighted their batting frailties, whereas Pakistani spinners Ali Usman and Sajid Khan each claimed four wickets.

Pakistan chased down a modest target of 75 with the loss of only two wickets. Captain Babur Azam and Abdullah Shafique both contributed unbeaten 24 runs, while Ajan Avais added 18. This triumph marks Pakistan’s first overseas Test win in three years, the previous being against Sri Lanka in July 2023.
