WPL 2027 Mini Auction: Uma Kashvi and Samaira Raghav Make Headlines

The WPL 2027 mini auction in Kochi on Wednesday produced several eye-catching moments, with two teenage cricketers drawing special attention. Uma Kashvi, aged 15, and Samaira Raghav, aged 16, both earned spots in their respective franchises.

Uma Kashvi was bought by Delhi Capitals for 10 lakh rupees. With her purchase, she became the youngest player ever sold at a WPL auction. She is a right-arm spinner who contributes with both bat and ball.

Uma was born in Karnataka on April 9, 2011, and began her cricketing journey at seven, when she joined a cricket academy. Her standout performance in the BCCI Women's Under-15 tournament, where she scored 516 runs at an average of 172 with three centuries and one fifty, brought her into the spotlight. She has also captained Karnataka at the Under-15 level and currently plays for the Karnataka Under-19 team.

Uma surpassed the record of Diya Yadav, another Delhi Capitals signing from the previous auction, who was 16 when she was bought.

Samaira Raghav, also 16, was acquired by Gujarat Giants for 10 lakh rupees. She is known for her middle-order batting and her spin bowling. Her aggressive batting in the Delhi Premier League had already impressed observers, and she will now become part of the Gujarat Giants dressing room for WPL 2027.
