The Pune Club Golf Course witnessed a power-packed opening day of WPGT 2026 Leg-4, where Tvesa Malik and Ridhima Dilawari dominated with matching 3-under 68s, grabbing a joint lead. This Rs 17 lakh event, featuring a record 49 competitors and powered by Hero MotoCorp, is already living up to its billing.
Building on her playoff win against Anvitha Narendran last week at Oxford Golf Resort – her first title since September 2023 – Tvesa mixed steady play with a back-nine surge. One birdie and a bogey on the front nine set the stage for her finishing flourish: three birdies in four holes. Ridhima stole the show early, notching five birdies on the front and a sixth on 10 to hit 6-under. Late setbacks – a bogey, double bogey, and final bogey – capped her at 68, but her potential shone bright.
Vani Kapoor’s 69 placed her alone in third, one shot off the pace. Anuradha Chaudhary, an amateur, joined the under-par club with 70 for fourth. Lavanya Gupta followed at 72 (fifth), and five players tied sixth at 73: Sneha Singh, Durga Nittur, Jasmine Shekar, Anvitha Narendran, and Vidhatri Urs. Standouts like Amandeep Drall (74, T-11) and Neha Tripathi (75, T-14) are in the mix.
Recalling last week’s finale, no one went under par, with Aradhana Manikandan and Vani Kapoor sharing fourth at 72. Tvesa’s drought-breaking victory has her in prime form, but Ridhima’s bold style adds intrigue. As the tournament unfolds, strategic battles on Pune’s challenging layout could reshape the leaderboard.
