Witnesses spot missing shooter at Haldia ferry jetty, family relieved
Kolkata, July 18 – Early Saturday morning, commuters near the Ramakrishnapur ferry jetty in Hooghly district noticed a woman wandering without purpose. The onlookers soon identified the individual as national shooter Damyanti Sen, who had been missing for two days.
The sighting was immediately reported to her family. Her father, Dhruvajyoti Sen, rushed to the jetty and escorted her home, bringing relief to a worried household.
Sen's disappearance began on Thursday when she left her house to purchase household supplies, carrying her mobile phone. When she failed to return, her family lodged a missing‑person report, prompting police to start a focused search.
During the interval, CCTV footage from Howrah railway station captured her moving between platforms four and five, while a later video from the Mahesh Rath Yatra in Serampore showed her amid the festive crowd. Social media buzz surrounding these sightings compelled the police to assign four independent teams to locate her.
A promising talent recently chosen for national team trials, Sen's brief absence sparked widespread concern. The special investigation team continues to scrutinize all evidence before issuing a final statement.
