Indian team opening batsman Rohit Sharma is eager to return to international cricket and has been working hard on the field. Last week, he passed the Yo-Yo test at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru. Along with him, Shubman Gill and several other players also took the test. Following this test, Rohit Sharma was scheduled to take the Bronco test, but it didn’t happen. A major reason for this has emerged. The team India’s Strength and Conditioning Coach, Adrian Le Roux, introduced the Bronco test. However, the test has not yet been implemented.
Reports indicate that the Yo-Yo test for Rohit Sharma, along with several other players, took place on August 31st, with Sharma passing the test and proving his fitness. While he was expected to undergo the Bronco test, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet implemented it. Therefore, Rohit Sharma did not have to take this test.
According to reports from TOI, this test may be conducted in Dubai before the Asia Cup. Team India will depart for Dubai on the morning of September 4th and will hold its first session at the ICC Academy on September 5th. Thus, if the BCCI wants to conduct the Bronco test, it may be held in Dubai, although this has not been confirmed yet. Consequently, Rohit Sharma did not take the Bronco test.
Rohit Sharma, who has retired from T20I and Test cricket, has been away from international cricket for a long time. His last appearance was on March 9th in the Champions Trophy final. In this match, Team India won the Champions Trophy title by defeating New Zealand. Since then, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been away from international cricket.
These two players may return in the upcoming three-match ODI series in Australia next month. Both players are working hard on the field to prepare for this. Rohit Sharma had previously expressed his desire to play in the ODI series against Australia A, which is touring India.
