West Indies Squad Update: Amir Jangu Added Ahead of India T20 Clashes

The West Indies cricket team has updated its squad for the upcoming five‑match T20 International series against India by including wicket‑keeper‑batter Amir Jangu. The move comes after Jual Andrew sustained a finger injury while attempting a catch in the third One Day International held at the newly built PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh. Andrew was immediately taken to a hospital for an X‑ray and was subsequently ruled out of the T20 leg of the tour. Jangu, who earned his first cap in December 2024, has featured in seven T20Is, scoring 163 runs at a strike‑rate of 120.74. In the recent ODI series against India, he delivered unbeaten innings of 58, 114 and 67, positioning him third on the run‑scoring chart behind Shai Hope and Shubman Gill. The series opener is set for Tuesday at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, a venue that has seen India dominate the T20 head‑to‑head with 20 wins out of 31 matches.
