West Indies Face Squad Shortage as Paul and Others Sit Out

The West Indies squad heading to Bangladesh is experiencing a notable dip in numbers. Apart from Kemar Paul’s exit, white‑ball captain Shai Hope has been given rest, and fast bowler Alzarri Joseph was omitted as part of a workload‑management plan.

Initially, Joseph had been slated to replace Paul, but the revised strategy left him out of the playing XI. The reduced pace options have forced the team to rely heavily on newer faces like Shamar Springer and existing veterans.

The updated playing roster now lists Royston Charles as captain, with Josmel Warican as vice‑captain, alongside players such as Joshua Bishop, John Campbell, Tagannaryn Chandrapal, Joshua da Silva, Justin Graves, Kevon Hodge, Amir Jangu, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Kamer Roch, Jaden Seals, Shamar Springer, and Kevin Vickam. The lineup will be tested in the warm‑up match at Dhaka and the two Tests at Mirpur and Sylhet.
