West Indies fall short of 224 target, captain highlights bowling lapses

India posted a total of 223 runs, with Abhishek Sharma blasting 69 runs off just 30 balls, including six fours and five sixes. Ishan Kishan added 37 runs from 18 deliveries, while Tilak Varma contributed 28 off 16. In reply, West Indies’ Kamill Puran scored 42 from 27 balls, Shimron Hetmyer 43 from 26, and Radhford 32 from 21. Shamar Springer’s quickfire 35 not out off 11 balls could not bridge the gap. Hope commended the effort but reiterated that the bowlers allowed too many boundaries and missed key moments that could have turned the tide.
