West Indies dominate powerplay, equal New Zealand's best, chase 247 total

West Indies’ powerplay of 79/1 has equalled New Zealand’s highest powerplay score of the year, both achieved in the same competition. This aggressive start helped the visitors set 247 runs for three wickets in the full 20‑over spell, a figure that stands as the second‑largest first‑innings total against India in T20 history.

The innings featured a partnership between captain Shai Hope, who remained unbeaten on 102, and Sherfane Rutherford, who struck seven boundaries in a 49‑run cameo. India’s bowlers managed to dismiss Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav and Akshar Patel, each taking one wicket.
