Veteran Cape Verde Keeper Vojinha Aims to Boost Colo Colo’s Title Chase
Santiago, August 5 – After earning the Best Goalkeeper award at the 2026 World Cup, veteran Cape Verdeian custodian Vojinha has signed with Chile’s most successful club, Colo Colo. The 40‑year‑old arrived in Santiago as a free agent following his departure from GD Chaves, completing a medical test before finalising his contract.
Colo Colo, the sole Chilean side to lift the Copa Libertadores trophy, currently tops the Primera División with a comfortable lead. The club’s technical staff believes Vojinha’s experience on the global stage will add composure and leadership to a defensive unit that has already conceded few goals this season.
In his first interview with local journalists, Vojinha reflected on his humble beginnings, emphasizing the rare chances available to players from small nations. He expressed confidence that his presence will help Colo Colo maintain its dominance and push the team toward further domestic and continental success.
