Valencia’s New Manager Plans Gradual Progress, Eyes First Match on Oct 11

The appointment of Xavi Aguirre marks a return to Spanish football for the former Mexico coach. Valencia, currently holding just four points from seven games, hopes his experience can lift the club out of the relegation zone. Aguirre emphasized his philosophy of steady improvement, stating that he will concentrate on the upcoming 11 October fixture against Racing Santander. He dismissed the idea of rushing for a Europa League spot, noting that a contract extension beyond 2027 is secondary to restoring the team's morale and competitiveness.
