Breakthrough Victory Moves Vacheroft Into ATP Top‑10 Contention

The stunning upset over Arthur Fils has propelled Valentin Vacheroft into the conversation for a top‑10 ATP ranking for the first time in his career. With 1,000 points to defend in Shanghai next week, Vacheroft must defend his hard‑court swing points, but his recent form in Tokyo suggests he can rise further. The French player, ranked 22nd, now faces a tougher race for the ATP Finals qualification as Vacheroft’s surge narrows the gap, while rivals Daniil Medvedev and Alex de Minaur remain in contention.
