Union ministers hail Indian track and field achievements

Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri used X to commend Murli Srishankar’s silver medal in the long‑jump, describing it as a “proud moment for Indian athletics.” He added that the medal was the result of hard work and called for more such performances.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh celebrated the “double podium” in the men’s javelin throw, where Yashveer Singh took silver and Rohit Yadav earned bronze. Singh praised the athletes for their determination and urged them to keep scaling higher peaks for the nation.

The ministerial messages collectively underscored the government’s commitment to supporting athletes, improving infrastructure, and fostering a culture of sporting excellence across India.
