In Nagoya, Tejinderpal Singh Tur added another Asian Games medal to his collection, this time a silver in the men's shot put. He began the final with a 20.06‑metre launch, followed by a 20.26‑metre effort that kept him in the hunt.
The third and fourth attempts slipped to 19.77 metres and 19.71 metres, respectively. Tur rebounded with a 20.64‑metre throw in the fifth round, but a foul on the sixth attempt left that as his top performance.
Iranian competitor Mohammad Reza Tayebi clinched gold with a record‑breaking 20.81 metres, surpassing Tur’s own Asian Games record of 20.75 metres from Jakarta 2018. Tur’s silver confirms his streak of podium finishes at three straight Asian Games.
