Test Cricket Milestone: India at 122/3 During First Women’s Test at Lord’s

Opening batters Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma started the chase, but Verma was dismissed without adding to the total, leaving the side at four runs. When lunch was called, Mandhana stood on 56 runs off 67 deliveries, featuring a six and nine fours, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur had contributed 14 runs from 25 balls. Their partnership accounted for 21 of the runs. England’s bowlers Lauren Bell, Lauren Filer and Eji Wong each claimed a wicket during the spell.

The match also saw the debut of Indian spinner Sri Charani. England’s veteran wicket‑keeper‑batter Tammy Beaumont was playing her final Test, adding an emotional note to the historic occasion.
