Teen Czech Star Reaches First WTA1000 Semi at Beijing Tournament

At 20 years old, Nikola Bartunkova has carved her name into the elite tier of women's tennis. Her quarter‑final triumph in Beijing propelled her into her inaugural WTA 1000 semi‑final, making her the youngest Czech to achieve this feat this season. The victory came after a dominant display that left her seasoned opponent, former Wimbledon finalist Mučova, unable to answer the Czech's aggressive tactics. Bartunkova's blend of powerful baseline rallies, sharp volleys and strategic drop shots kept Mučova on the defensive throughout the match.
