Team India claims bronze in women's skeet while individuals stumble

The women's skeet team from India secured a bronze medal at the Asian Games 2026 held in Nagoya, joining China and Kazakhstan on the podium. The trio – Raija Dhillon, Parinaz Dhaliwal and Maheshwari – accumulated 331 points in the qualification round, a performance that earned them third place overall.

Despite their collective success, the individual efforts of Dhillon and Dhaliwal fell short. Both shooters qualified for the final after hitting 111 of 125 targets, but their final-round scores placed them fourth and eighth, respectively, leaving them without an individual medal.

India's shooting squad also recorded a bronze in the men's skeet team event, thanks to Anantjit Singh Naruja, Maraj Ahmad Khan and Bhavtej Singh, who posted 346 points. In the 10‑meter air pistol category, Mano Bakar missed the women's podium, finishing fifth with a score of 181.1, while the women's team took fourth place overall.

The mixed outcomes illustrate India's strength in team formats at Nagoya, contrasted with the difficulty of converting that strength into individual podium finishes.
