Team Event Update: India Holds Fifth Spot with Combined 3‑under 137

In the men’s team event at the Asian Games, India’s combined score of 3‑under 137 after the first round placed the nation in a joint fifth position. The team total is derived from the two best individual scores of each country per round. Japan leads the standings with a 9‑under 131 total.

The competition features 66 male golfers and will run from September 30 to October 3, covering a full 72‑hole schedule. Medal decisions for the team category are based on the aggregate of the top two scores from each nation after every round.

India’s strong showing is backed by recent form: Saptak Talwar and Veer Ahlawat secured a joint third place at the Bengaluru Open 2026, while Yuvraj Sandhu achieved a 13th‑place finish at the FedEx Open de France on the DP World Tour.
