Team Australia Packs Pace Firepower with Starc, Hazlewood and Returning Nathan Lyon for Bangladesh Tests

The Australian selectors have prioritized pace for the upcoming Bangladesh Test series, naming Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and returning Nathan Lyon in the 13‑man squad.

Pat Cummins, the national captain, will lead the side after a five‑month hiatus from Test cricket. The fast‑bowling unit is further strengthened by the inclusion of Scott Boland, who provides a reliable backup option.

All‑rounders Bu Webster and Cameron Green have also earned spots, adding depth to both the batting and bowling departments. The top order will be commanded by Travis Head, supported by Josh Inglis, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne and Jake Vedder.

George Bailey, chair of the selection panel, praised the dedication of Cummins, Hazlewood and Lyon, noting that they have worked closely with sports science and medical staff to regain full fitness. He added that contingency players are on standby should any injury concerns arise before the series begins.

The series will commence in Dhaka from August 13‑17, with the second Test taking place in Chattogram from August 22‑26, as Australia looks to consolidate its lead in the World Test Championship.
