Tashkent 2027 Schedule Expands with 16 New Medal Events

The 2027 World Para Athletics Championships in Tashkent will host a record‑breaking slate of 202 medal events, thanks to the addition of sixteen new contests. The competition runs from June 19‑27 at the Uzbekistan Olympic City Sport Stadium and aligns with every event from the New Delhi 2025 championships.

The expanded roster includes five entirely new medal events – men’s 100 m T61, men’s 200 m T47, men’s discus throw F53, women’s 100 m T61 and women’s 800 m T20 – plus eleven events that have been divided into separate classification groups to accommodate a broader range of athletes.

All 164 medal events planned for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games are also featured, making the Tashkent edition the most comprehensive world championship to date. Organisers project participation from more than 1,300 athletes representing over one hundred nations, cementing the event’s status as the largest para‑sport gathering in Central Asia.
