From Target Olympic Podium Scheme to Asian Games Podium: ANC Sojan’s Story

ANC Sojan has been part of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme since December 2021, a program designed to nurture athletes with medal potential. After winning a bronze at the Asian Indoor Championships and a silver at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, expectations were high for her performance in Japan. Sojan described her mental preparation, anticipating fierce competition from Chinese jumpers. When rain turned the Nagoya runway slick, she had to adapt quickly. As a member of the Indian Navy, she refused to consider defeat, vowing to fight until the final jump. Although she felt the last three attempts were hampered by fatigue, she remained pressure‑free and proud of the silver medal that capped a demanding season.
